The people

The people who put their name on it.

Every claim on this site has a person behind it. These are the people who answer for the work.

Dr. Robert Taylor
Dr. Robert Taylor M.D., M.P.H.
Co-Founder & Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Taylor decides what Auvum will and will not put its name on. Four decades of practice sit behind that judgment — Harvard Medical School, the Harvard School of Public Health, residencies at Cambridge Hospital and the Boston VA — plus more than thirty years as the physician touring musicians and Grammy winners call in confidence, and a public-health career that has taken him to nearly thirty countries. He also leads Auvum’s work in Bogotá, where he works with Latin American partners directly, in Spanish.

Jaye Patel
Jaye Patel
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Jaye Patel runs the side of Auvum that has to hold up outside the lab — capital, partnerships, and where the company goes next, across its three anchor markets: the United States, India, and Colombia. Before Auvum he spent years in business development for laboratories and clinics, focused on clinical training and regulatory compliance. He holds a Harvard A.B. and is completing Harvard Medical School’s certificate coursework in stem cell medicine.

Dr. Asif Khan Kundi
Dr. Asif Khan Kundi M.B.B.S.
Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Division

Dr. Kundi is responsible for whether a partner clinic actually meets the standard on paper — clinical operations, quality assurance, and provider coordination across the network. He trained at Khyber Medical University and spent more than a decade in frontline practice and healthcare operations, including quality-assurance work supporting U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare programs. He also co-founded USMLE100, mentoring international medical graduates into residency.

Stephen Bookbinder
Stephen Bookbinder MBA
Head of Business Development, USA

Stephen Bookbinder is responsible for how Auvum grows in the United States — partnerships, customer acquisition, and capital strategy. He is founder and managing partner of Kayak Kapital, a boutique investment banking and business development firm, and has worked with Bear Stearns, Bloomberg, Cantor Fitzgerald, and Dow Jones over a thirty-year career. He holds an MBA from Baruch College.

Samuel Arrieta
Partner & Business Development, Colombia

Samuel Arrieta is Auvum’s partner in Colombia — regulatory affairs, legal coordination, and business development across the market. Nothing moves in Colombia without going through him first. He brings long-standing government and institutional relationships, plus family and professional ties across Central America, to Auvum’s growth in the wider Latin American region.

Nicolas Ramirez
Head of Legal

Nicolas Ramirez heads Auvum’s legal department. Every clinic, research, and distribution agreement the company signs crosses his desk first, under whichever regulatory regime applies in that market. His standard is simple: no agreement goes out unless it holds up to scrutiny in the country it was written for.
